Good day

The cold/sinus infection is easing.  My throat isn't sore anymore.  Had a headache most of the day.

Canadian men won their first game at the Worlds in Victoria but the Canucks and Whitecaps disappointed.

Much better

Dozed most of the afternoon.  Feeling better.  My throat isn't hurting as often and I am coughing less.

Must be on the mend as I just spent a couple of hours on a new caching challenge.

GP

Saw my GP at 4 today.  He said I have a sinus infection and put me on antibiotics.  A headache was starting but I still stopped at my mini Safeway to fill the prescription.  The pharmacist said it interacted with one of my cancer drugs.  Luckily, the Dr. was still in the office and changed it to Amoxicillin Trihydrate.

I was done in so just came home and took a Tylenol.  My head was fine by the start of the Canucks game and I had some soup for dinner.

Rats

Felt better yesterday but not today.

Mae wokeme up at 9:30 and it took several minutes before I could figure out who it was.

Long sleep

Went to bed at 10 and got up at 9.

Throat and mouth still hurt but everything else seems better.

Bit better

Felt a bit better.  Still have sore throat and mouth and coughing fits.

Sleepless night

My leg kept me up until 5 and then the pain just stopped.  I slept most of the morning.  Now it is starting up again.  Cold is a bit better.

Jen had her baby last night, Jack Thomas Ryan.

Bad night

Went to bed at 11 and woke up in pain at 2:30.  My left groin and leg again.  A tumour somewhere is pressing on nerves.  Stayed in my chair the rest of the night with a hot compress.

Coughed and blew my nose all morning.  At least there was curling, Canucks and Whitecaps.  Only the Canucks won.

Leg painful again tonight.  I'll try the bed again.

Venturing out

Needed to take a prescription to the Cancer Agency.  Had to wait 40 minutes as they were busy.  I have enough refills for a year so I can phone ahead in the future.  Trip did me in. Got a headache and sore neck so came straight home.  Dozed a lot after that.

Am feeling somewhat better.  My eyes aren't weeping as much but my throat is sore and I am working through a couple of boxes of tissue.

Eyes irritating

Another quiet day yesterday.  Went to bed before 10 as it was getting too hard to keep my weepy eyes open.  This cold is one of the worst I've had.  My compromised immune system?

Still sick

Felt a bit better this morning, but not tonight.   Coughing a lot and my eyes are burning.  Think I'll go to bed so I can close them.  Trouble with doing that while watching TV is that I keep falling asleep.

Groceries

My cold is still hanging on. Lori went to Oakridge Safeway and had a pile of groceries (and a latte!) delivered.  The first thing they do is ask where my elevator is.  Lori also picked up Pam and 3 friends at 3:30 am to take them to the airport.  Pam later emailed from poolside.  Life is tough!

Still croaking

Slept on and off from 11 to 10.  Kept waking up to cough.

Felt a bit better until tonight.  Throat sore, eyes watering.  Kept dozing off all day.

Canucks aren't helping.

Sunshine

Blue skies this morning but still cold.

Slept poorly as I kept waking up coughing.  My other eye was shut this time.  Both are bad tonight so I'm going to bed early so I can shut them.

Running out of stuff so might try Safeway tomorrow.  Will need to do the laundry soon and need a prescription filled at the Cancer Agency.  Too busy to be sick.

Weeping eyes

Now I'm weeping.  No, not over the Canucks.  Couldn't open one eye this morning.  Hot compresses feel great.  Still have a sore throat and cough.  My feet hurt a bit but are much better.

Dozed on and off all day

Quick outing

My feet weren't so painful this morning so I made a trip to my micro Safeway.  Picked up a prescription and a few things I was running out of.  Stopped at the White Spot for take-out.  Had chowder for lunch and a Caesar salad for dinner

Still have a sore throat and.my feet hurt more tonight.

Test results

Dr. Called to say my tumour marker test was the same as last month.  It had been dropping but I was off one of my drugs for 3 weeks.  The CTScan was fine except one tumour behind my kidney that had grown.

Still stuffed and talking like a frog.  Feet are worse.

Sore feet

You'd think my feet would be happy that I'm losing weight.  Instead, they hurt with whatever  bug I have.  My throat is sore and I'm stuffed up.

Stayed in front of the TV and drank a lot.  Watched five episodes of Body of Proof.  Got a tweet about the pope and watched for a while.

Achoo!

Went to bed at 10 and slept until almost 7.  Cold is worse.

Saw Dr. Geddes at 8:30.  Not all my tests were back but she thought I looked a lot better - in spite of te cold.  I've lost more weight even though I'm eating more.

Picked up some juice and fruit on the way home.  Must do a big shopping run soon.  Was so tired when I got home I just sat for a long time before putting the food away.  Later I slept through the first period of the hockey game.

Tonight I'm sniveling and my feet hurt.

Still sick

I don't have a full blown cold but have some systems. What a pain.

Stayed in to watch TV, read and doze.

Cold day

Have a bit of a sore throat but think it is just my sinuses.  I see my doctor on Tuesday but hope it is gone then.

Cold, dull day so I stayed inside and watched Canada lose the baseball and the Canucks lose their game.  Time to get rid of Aquilini and the manager.  The team has no depth and dies when key players are hurt.   Aquilini is just a big philanderer being sued by his wife. He was just fined $125,000 by Worksafe for not fixing vans used for farm workers - again!   The best is the sports psychologist he enticed from Europe and then, once he and his family were settled in, fired.  It isn't as if the team doesn't need help.

Sports day

A headache started ast night and has lasted most of the day.  Not too bad and Tylenol keeps knocking it down.

My prescription was ready so I picked it up on the way to Cobbs and M&M.  Hot cross buns are out so it was worth the drive.

Watched some curling and World Baseball to warm up for the Whitecaps.  They played a great game.

Met Pam and Lori at the Olympic Oval at 9.  Lori's husband put on a Tarzan exhibition and retrieved a cache from behind a waterfall without getting his feet wet.

Busy day

Started with bloodwork this morning and then an appointment with my dermatologist. She gave me a new prescription for the cream she has given me a couple of times before for eczema.  Also have to keep putting Vaseline on my lip so I stop licking it.

Next stop was the Cancer Agency for a CTScan after guzzling a bunch of water. Hard to find a vein this time.

Stopped at Granville Island for a bowl of tomato soup and some groceries.  Dropped the prescription off at my mini Safeway.

Did a lot in one day and feel pretty good.

Back to my routine

Took my pills this morning with lots of water.  Wonder what Friday's bloodwork will show?

Picked up some Japanese food to eat watching the Canucks.  That didn't help them.

Quick solution

Got a call this morning from the woman Karen asked to solve my pill problem.  She said not to worry - she would fix it.  The problem was the fax of the script had not gone through.  Any fax machine I've used prints a fail message.  She said to wait for more calls.

The next call was from Ottawa.  I talked to George or an hour. He kept putting me on hold so I'd go back to my TV show.  He was very friendly and is even trying to get Pacific Blue Cross to pay some of it.  I won't have to pay anything as it is a compassionate program.

Kati, from McKesson Pharmacy in Coquitlam was the next caller.  They deal with specialty drugs and e was very efficient.  I will receive a month at a time and she will call a few days before to set the delivery time.   The box of pills arrived by courier at 16:00.  No dispensing or delivery fees!

I'll start taking them in the morning.

Someone messed up and I know it wasn't my oncologists.

Button, button, who's got the pills?

Spent the day with Pam, Lori and Maureen in North Delta & Surrey.  Still just navigating.  Had my first hamburger in ages at the White Spot and enjoyed it.

Got a message from my oncologists' secretary when I was picking up my car. She was answering the message I left last week about my missing pills (3weeks now).  I am sure she hadn't said anything to the doctors and couldn't now as they were off for a few days.  I yelled at her a bit but she still didn't get how serious this was.

I emailed Karen using her Agency account and she answered quickly!  She had no idea what had been going on and someone will fix it in the morning.  First time in 20 years I've had a problem there.

Downside of going back on the Afinitor will be the increased fatigue and lack of appetite.

Naps

Felt pretty good today.  I'm getting used to falling asleep in the afternoon.  The trick is to be watching something on the PVR so you can rewind.

Watched the NDP skewer Christie in Question Period. Impressed with the calm questions and how they shared them around.  They just need o get better at homing in on a specific point.   Rich Coleman looks like he is on the verge of a heart attack.

Headache

Had a bit of a headache most of the day.  Finally went out for some fresh air and groceries.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  Got some chicken at Nando's for dinner.

Canucks started well but the ref and fatigue (flight was delayed from last night due to snow) did them in.

Beam of sunlight

Still pouring this morning. I waited until 2:30 to venture out and actually saw blue sky over the ocean.

Picked up chowder and a Caesar salad at the White Spot.  Ate the soup during the Whitecaps win and saved the salad for the Canucks.  Both great games.

Lost drugs

I ran out of my main chemo drug a couple of weeks ago.  It is complicated.  The federal government is supplying it on compassionate grounds.  It is sent to the Agency but they can't dispense compassionate drugs.  They walk then down to MacDonald 's Pharmacy.  Last time, they called when it arrived.  I warned my oncologist that I was running out.  She was to order the next 3-month batch.  I had to go in to sign a permission form and the secretary said not to worry.

I called the Cancer Agency pharmacy today and hey didn't know what I was talking about.  The MacDonald's pharmacist knew right away what I waiting for but didn't have the pills have left a message with Dr. Geddes but probably won't hear anything until next week.

Stormy day

Too wet for geocaching, so Lori and Maureen went to Pam's to work on puzzles.  Pam has a cold, so I stayed away.

Dozy day.
